I bought this vacuum and it works like a charm. No more cords to fall over or have to keep plugging and unplugging. Really does an excellent job on my wood floors and gets all the dust and lint vacummed. Also works good on carpets. I do plan to get the extra battery so it will be ready at all times but you don’t need to if you are willing to wait three hours for the battery to recharge.

I had a Eureka stick vac for years and it finally bit the dust (so to speak) and I needed to replace it. I wanted something that would work well on my new hardwood floors and have good suction for quick touchups on my area rugs. This vacuum has good suction and I love the switch at fingers reach to switch between hardwood and carpet. I have a heavily shedding dog and it picks up the hair very well. My issues are two design flaws. The first is the battery life. Come on – a 15 minute battery on a nearly $200 vacuum???? That’s ridiculous. I barely get thru 3 rooms and it is dead. A replacement battery runs $60 which when combined with the cost of the vacuum is the same as purchasing 4 of the Eureka’s I had. The battery charger is also very finicky. If a large truck drives by it jostles the battery and it no longer has good contact to charge. If you stick the battery in the charger right out of the vacuum it is too hot and it won’t charge until it cools which takes about 15-20 minutes on top of the regular charge time of nearly 3 hours. The second complaint is the dust cup. The latch is poorly designed and the “hatch” won’t open to empty without pulling on which has netted me incredibly dirty hands twice now when emptying it. I think this has a great potential but for the cost I’m not happy with these two issues. When I clean I don’t want to schedule 3 hours between rooms. I want it done and over with. I think Hoover needs to rethink the spare battery cost. I think this one is going to go back because the cost is simply not justified with these two siginificant issues.

I have owned more vacuums than I care to count. I have wood floors in my kitchen, dining room and den. I have thick plush carpet in the rest of the house. I have a Braun canister vacuum for wood floors which is a pain to pull out on a daily basis so I wanted something I could park in a hidden corner of my kitchen that I could use daily. For 5 years I have suffered with an Electrolux stick vacuum that won’t pick up anything so when I saw the ad for this vacuum I decided to buy one. I am so pleased with it. The vacuum not only picks up all the crumbs but picks up dry cat food that vacuums usually spit out the back. The only thing I wish it could do is adjust a bit lower than it can. I was not expecting any kind of performance on carpet but much to my surprise it actually did a good surface job. So good that I had to empty the cup halfway through. It moved with great ease on my carpet and throw rugs with the exception of a thick oriental rug in my dining room. The vacuum was hard to push against the nap of the rug. I thought the Hoover was easy to put together (one screw). I find the dirt cup easy to put in and take out and empty. One thing I had to do was turn it over after vacuuming and clean out cat hair (I have two persians) from the brush. The long hair had wrapped around the brush like a spool of thread. The vac is also very light weight. The battery is easy to insert and I had plenty of power left after vacuuming my whole house.

This little vacuum more than handles their combined “footprint.” Suction power is great, and ability to turn off roller helps immensely with area rug fringes. Battery power is the major disappointment. Indeed, you cannot waste time as your battery life will limit your square coverage. I was able to cover a 17 x 21, a 10 x10, a 20 x 8 and 12 x 14 room on one charge. That said, if more attention to detail was paid to nooks I am not sure I would have acheived this much. Like the previous reviewer I am debating keeping the machine. An extra battery might alleviate the problem – however, with ability to only charge one battery at a time you are really looking at a six hour gap between cleanings. I plan to call Hoover to see what extra battery/charger options, if any are available. With battery improvement I would give 5 stars without hesitation. For small spaces this is a great product. Also, you will most likely have to empty the vacuum at least once during a 3-4 room cleaning. I did not find this difficult, nor too messy.

This vaccum is not a heavy duty vaccum so dont expect it to clean off mud and stains from your carpet, but it is great for cleaning up pieces of paper and other small particles. I used it to clean my room and I was suprise at the amount of dirt this vaccum cleaner picked up. I would have never guessed that my carpet was so dirty. I recommend this vaccum if u are not looking for a heavy duty one.

With this vac, I don’t have to struggle to get behind furnitures again. It has amazing suction for a vac of that size, and clean carpet as good as a full size vac (that’s what I think). My only complain is that: there is no easy way of emptying the cup (you will get dust everywhere, no matter how careful you try to be, so make sure you empty it away from everything else). Plus the vac get hot really fast (within 15 minutes), so don’t vacuum too long.

We’ve all tried different “quick” vacs — this one beats any I’ve used. It’s pretty powerful at picking things up considering it’s size. Easy to clean. But the BEST part is the handy attachment for corners and cleaning under furniture cushions. Poof! and it’s switched and you just keep going. I can’t find anything I don’t like about this and recommend it. If I HAD to find something about it I would change, it would be the cord. If it could be perhaps three feet longer, maybe four? that would give better stretch to cleaning area without having to change outlets.

We recently purchased this product because we installed laminate floors throughout our home and love the swiffer but needed something for anything that would not stick to the pad like larger crumbs from the dog and cat. But, for crumbs and other things tht land on the floor, you have to be in the perfect position with the vacuum or it will not pick up. It has no suction on the sides, only in the front center of the vaccuum. This is like dustbuster with a vaccum cleaner head on it. Don’t expect anything more than that! And, the cord is EXTREMELY short!! You have to un-plug and re-plug it in in every room you are in. I have permanantly attached an extension cord to it. Really annoying. Overall, I use it because we bought it and it is good with the pet hair, I probably would not buy it again if something happens to it.

I have purchased two of these vacuums. Both work very well on bare floors and area rugs. But they will overheat and cut out temporarily if using the power nozzle in dwellings with wall to wall carpet. I have called the company to report the problem and was advised that they are not meant to clean entire houses or apartments, or even entire rooms of any size with wall to wall carpeting. The company says they are meant for “touch-up” cleaning in small areas. Nevertheless, as I said, they have worked well cleaning an entire small house with bare floors (and not using the power nozzle). It ia using the nozzle for extended periods of time that apparently causes the overheating.

I had a Hoover Sprint for 7 years that I loved, but it was beginning to lose suction. I purchased this after reading so many great reviews and have not been disappointed. I love the fact that it cleans carpets as well as hard woods and I’m always surprised by how much is in the dirt container when I empty it. I also love that it stands up on its own as my old one did not. The only things I don’t like are 1) the head is not quite as wide as my last one so I’m sure I spend a bit more time covering an area and 2) the head is thicker vertically so it doesn’t fit very well between my cabinets and floor.

The dust cup is easy to remove and empty, too. I’ve never had problems with the vac shutting off and I have big size rooms and use it over 45 minutes at a time. It’s the best little vacuum and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a small, light-weight vacuum to use in between heavy cleaning jobs. I’m amazed that such a small vaccuum has so much suction and does such a great job! I’ll definitely buy another one when this one wears out.
