I loved this machine. We got it right before christmas 2007. It worked awesome. Sucked up everything and left the carpets looking great. HOWEVER, I went to clean the carpets before the in-laws came for christmas 2008 and I noticed the brushes weren’t spinning. We’ve tried everything and replaced everything that we can. It just went capoot. Bear in mind, this was ONE WEEK after our warranty expired. Hoover customer service was NO help and the nearest hoover fix-it store is over 2 hrs away. Will I buy another hoover..yes. I see Amazon has a huge sale on them right now and the one I want is $100 off. So I’ll get that one. But if it does the same thing where it quits after one year…it will be the last Hoover I buy.

I had a Hoover Steam Vac for over 10 years that was shared between 3 different homes. It finally wore out. I researched the internet to decide which Hoover Steam Vac I would buy this time, and chose this one. It cleans so much better than the old one. It is better than having a professional come to your house. I have 3 dogs that have accidents on the carpet when they have been left alone for too long. This carpet cleaner really works. You can’t even tell anything was there. Using vinigar and water gets rid of the pet odor. You won’t be dissapointed if you choose this one. I paid $199 for it which included shipping. No tax. My only complaint is that you have to empty the dirty water and refill the clean water so often, but I am sure it would be that way with any of them. Just have to think of it as a little extra exercise to the tub to fill up. Good for you!

I just purchased this vacuum today to clean a filthy area rug at my front entrance. It was either try one of these to see if it works or throw out the rug. The rug is staying. Except for one area of dirt/stain on the bound edge of the rug, it came clean. It is very easy to use. I used at least 1/2 of the soap to clean the rug(only 4 x 6). I am sure as I get used to using this I will be more knowledgeable. The rinse only feature is great as leaving soap in the rug was a concern of mine. To insure quicker drying you just vacuum back and forth without pressing the wash or rinse button and you can see the water coming back out. I was informed by a former Bissell owner that the V shaped return of this vacuum is a great feature she wishes she had. Without it, I guess clogging is a problem. I definitely recommend this product which I purchased on sale for 169.99 at Kohl’s.

The product works very well – you can see all the nasty black water being sucked up out of the carpet as you go. It used a little more detergent than I thought it would, but after going through about a half bottle I started diluting it by half and it seemed to perform equally well without a lot of sudsing in the recovery tank. It does use and suck up a lot of water, but that’s why it works so well. The carpet was just damp to the touch after cleaning and dry in just a couple of hours. A good home carpet cleaner – but still work. If I had a large home with a lot of carpet it would just be too much work to do all at once – but that would be the case with any carper cleaner. With all that said this is a good workhorse at a fair price.

This steamer is great at removing wallpaper, sanitizing tile floors with the floor head and getting the grime out of our hot water heat baseboards (until the nozzle broke–read on). Not so great at other clean-ups like ovens, grills and bathroom tile where you still need elbow-grease and a green scrub pad to do the best job. The 3 stars is for mediocre customer support from Wagner. Within 2 months of purchase, the jet nozzle cracked nearly in half making the steamer useless with this attachment. Wagner will sell replacements for $2.75 ea +s/h. M2C — they should have offered freebies. If all you want is a wallpaper steamer, there are cheaper alternatives. This unit is hardly durable enough for regular household cleaning chores.

This steamer works good on tough wallpaper, if your not in a hurry. I’m a small remodeling contractor and I’m happy to have the Wagner on demand steamer. The pressurized steam is great for getting into tight spaces. I have used the steamer mostly for wallpaper removal. If you have a large job, over 600 square feet, I would recommend renting a “commercial” steamer. If you have the time this steamer will do the job. Keep a bucket and pan(9×12) close by to catch the excess water. It shoots out water if you let it sit for a few minutes, so keep a bucket close. The extensions are useful. It steams up fairly quick. This makes it great for cleaning up spills or small bits of glue and paper left behind. I’m glad I chose this type of steamer over a non-pressurized steamer.

I bought this item to remove wallpaper, but found another really handy use for it. Recently, I moved a lot of furniture in my home and there were annoying carpet indentations from where the furniture smashed down the carpet. I tried vaccuumming and even a carpet washing machine to fluff up the carpet with little result. I used the steamer and the small brush attachment and was amazed that the carpet simply ‘sprung’ back to its original state. No brushing was actually required. The steam alone did the job. Also, the machine heats up faster than I expected.

I just received my Steam Cleaner today and already I’m impressed. It has far exceeded my expectations in just one day. I cleaned my SOFA, BATHROOM TILE, FORMICA and BBQ GRILLE. Seemed like I just couldn’t stop once I got started. Haven’t cleaned this much in one day in… well, I don’t know when. I had thought about buying one of the more expensive ones but thought I would give this a try first. Boy, I’m sure glad I did. I couldn’t believe how hot the steam gets. I do wish it had just a bit more power. Also, there seems to be a bit of water seepage from the nozzle, but not too bad. I also cleaned a few dirty spots on my carpet that I couldn’t even get up with cleaner. You have to blot the moisture away with a clean cloth as you go, but it took out the stains without any scrubbing which has a tendency to damage your carpet. I can’t wait to use it to detail my car. And my husband seems to always need my help cleaning his motorcycle, even though I refuse to ride it with him. None the less, can’t wait to see what kind of damage I can do with my little yellow machine on those wheels. Also have some wallpaper to remove, which is primarily why I bought it in the first place. For the price, I think this little machine is worth the money.

This does everything it claims and does it very well. I have used the “pros” for a price and rented “Rug Doctor”. This machine coupled with the Hoover Liquid Cleaner beat them both hands down. It is small enough to get into tight spaces and light enough to handle easily. The trade off is 1 gal. cleaning tanks as compared to 2 gal. on “Rug Doctor” necessitating more frequent changing. But the better mobility and ease of use is worth it. The first time I used it I couldn’t have been more impressed–best carpet cleaner I have ever used. It paid for itself in one use. I would highly recommend this efficient and powerful machine. My carpets have never looked this good since they were new.

I had used the dirt devil carpet extractor for years until the water tank cracked and I decided maybe it was time to just get a new carpet shampooer. I thought the Dirt Devil did a decent enough job for the price, until I decided to try this one(which costs about the same when on sale) to see how it worked, and let me tell you – there is no comparison. The Hoover works much better – lifting and cleaning matted down carpet that the dirt devil couldn’t touch. I had been using the dirt devil carpet extractor regularly for the past 5 years, but my carpets were still looking old and worn – the dirt devil just doesn’t do a very good job of getting into the fibers, or of sucking all the water out afterwards. After using this only 2 times, my 10 year old carpets look almost like new again. A must have for everyone that wants beautiful carpet!

Great value for money and serves extremely well as a home carpet cleaner. Bought this after carefully reading all reviews. My friend has the more expensive version which has a bigger tank but it is hard clear plastic, the tank has cracked twice and had to be replaced at a cost of $50 each time. I do find the tank to be small and it does have to be emptied frequently, but carpet cleaning is not a weekly occurrence so I do not mind putting up with it!! Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Having read the previous reviews, we purchased this machine over several other Bissell models sold by Amazon. Heeding the advice of earlier reviewers, we took our time to put the machine together properly before using it and had none of the leakage problems mentioned by others. If you purchase this machine, don’t worry too much if your don’t hear the “loud click” described in the instructions…ours didn’t click and everything seated fine for a leak-free assembly. Actual cleaning was much easier than rental machines used in the past. We found a new concentrated version of the Hoover cleaning solution at wally mart and, in combination with very hot water, cleaned our carpet quickly and without too much effort. Take your time when vacuuming up the water as one or two passes won’t do. We went back and forth over the wet carpet 10 or so times and it left the carpet damp enough for air drying in about 30 minutes. The only downside is that the dirty water needs to be emptied more often than it needs refilling with the cleaning solution. Oh, and it’s heavier than a vacuum cleaner so don’t think you’ll be able to lug this unit around as easily as you do a vacuum. Highly recommended. Much better results than ANY rental unit we’ve used in 30 years of cleaning our home carpets.
